Little Known Facts for the 2022 Season
- There are a total of 118 players in the 3 leagues with 13 teams
- 62 players in the 50 & over league with 5 teams
- 57 players in the 60 & over league with 4 teams
- 56 players in the 65 & over league with 4 teams
- Player ages range from 50 to 78
- The average age of the 118 players is 64.5
- There are 33 players that are age 70 and over. That’s 28%
- There are 14 players that play in all 3 leagues
- There are 30 players that play in 2 leagues, only
- So, there are 44 players that play in more than 1 league
- Only 40% of the 118 players have a Marion, Ohio address. (Aliens prevail!)
- Only 15 players or 13% do not have an email address
Other Important Stuff
We are enjoying the new scoreboard, made possible by a generous donation from Whirlpool. Phil Harbolt of Harbolt Electrical & Alarms, a longtime annual team sponsor, provided the labor, materials, and know how to remove the old scoreboard, install the new one and get it up and running.
Our ground crew provided some needed help. Speaking of
our ground crew, we were able to convince the Marion Parks Dept. to let us mow the field and do the pre-game field preparation for every game night. They in turn were willing
to reduce our game fees by almost 70%. That is a savings to
us of close to $1500 for this season. Thanks to our ground
crew for their faithful service and efforts, Bigford ball field
has never looked better.
